Our Process: From Requirements to Customer Delivery

We are your Single Point of Contact. Our 4-step process is a documented roadmap designed to eliminate uncertainty, ensure quality, and deliver your product at scale. We always start with a mutually agreed foundation, so you only invest when you are confident.

Phase 1: Strategy & Conceptualization (The Foundation)

This initial phase is about establishing a clear and realistic foundation for your project. We eliminate doubt and ensure all critical aspects are addressed before you commit financially.

What We Do:

  • NDA First: We sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before the initial consultation, securing your IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) from the first meeting.

  • Free Requirements Specification: We meticulously develop the complete Requirements Specification in close collaboration with you. We ask the critical questions regarding: Functionality, User Interface, Market, Design, Standards, and – most importantly – Design for Manufacturing (DfM) across plastics, metal, and rubber.

  • Mutual Clarity: We create the clearest possible picture of the project scope, the required investments, and the anticipated production price. We operate with full transparency to mutually assess the realism of the project.

Customer Milestone:

  • After this step, you have a complete, visual Requirements Specification and a preliminary Business Case/Timeline.

  • Once the foundation is clear, a contract is signed for the subsequent work. Before the contract is signed, there is no cost to you.

Phase 2: Design & Verification (From Blueprint to Prototype)

With the foundation established, we transform your concept into a verifiable, physical model. Our focus is locking the design and ensuring it’s optimized for production before you invest in expensive tooling.

What We Do:

  • 3D Modeling with Tooling in Mind: Our 3D models in SolidWorks are not just visual; they are optimized for manufacturability. We model the design with the tool's construction in mind, minimizing costly changes later.

  • Functional Models and Prototypes: We produce physical models using 3D printing, CNC machining, or 2K casting in plastic/rubber. This is crucial for you to feel, test, and secure initial orders for the product before major investment.

  • Documentation: We provide 2D drawings for internal documentation, quality control, and as a strong basis for your patent applications and regulatory approvals. We also draft a detailed Quality Specification.

Customer Milestone:

  • You approve the final drawings, physical functional models, colors, materials, and the final Quality Specification (including tolerances and acceptable failure rate). We typically proceed through 2-3 iterative loops until the design is locked and approved for tooling production.

Phase 3: Tooling & Preparation (Expertise Delivered)

This is the technical phase where we ensure your tools are built to deliver consistent, high-volume quality – whether production takes place in Denmark or Asia.

What We Do:

  • Tooling Specification: We prepare a detailed tooling specification, which serves as our mandate when dealing with toolmakers.

  • DFM & Analysis: We obtain and evaluate DFM (Design for Manufacturing) reports from the toolmaker, including analysis of castability and Mold Flow analyses, which you must approve.

  • Transparent Tooling Procurement: We enter into contracts with the suppliers and manage the entire payment and handover process. You approve the final tooling drawings.

  • Tooling Assurance Process:

    • The tool is only shipped when 90% of the price is settled (60% deposit, 30% after the first trial run).

    • Before the tool is sent to Denmark, we have either "boots on the ground" for on-site inspection or have received verified measuring reports.

    • The tool is tested in Denmark with your involvement. Only when the factory, customer, and AI-DEAS agree that the tool functions satisfactorily according to the Quality Specification are the final 10% paid. Any errors or deficiencies in the tool are rectified at AI-DEAS' expense in Denmark.

Customer Milestone:

  • You now have finished, fully approved, and tested tools with associated Quality Specifications, ready for mass production.

Phase 4: Production & Logistics (Scalability and Delivery)

In this final phase, we eliminate supply chain complexity. You choose your desired level of involvement – from simple production to full supply chain management.

What We Do:

  • Single Point of Contact: We consolidate responsibility. If your product has a metal part from one factory and a plastic part from another, we manage the integration and the overall QA control.

  • Production Contract & Order Confirmation: We advise on scaling (pilot production vs. mass production) based on order size. A production contract and order confirmation clearly state what you are purchasing, the cost, and the completion timeline.

  • Quality Control: The QA system (sampling, visual inspection, etc.) follows the Quality Specification you approved in Phase 2.

  • Logistics Services: We handle both primary and secondary packaging, and offer Warehousing and Direct Shipping – a valuable service that reduces your inventory costs and handling time.

Customer Milestone:

  • Your finished product is delivered to your customer's location, your warehouse, or even directly onto the retail shelf, ready for sale.

Why Our Process Works

Like building a house, product development requires architects, engineers, and craftsmen. Our structured process brings all expertise together – step by step – so your idea becomes a tangible, manufacturable, and scalable product.
